Caregiver Jobs in Naperville, IL and the Western Suburbs

Guided with Grace Home Care is a non-medical home care agency based in Naperville, serving families across Kendall, Will, DuPage, and Kane Counties. We are always looking for compassionate caregivers who want to do this work well and for the long term.

Our approach to care shapes the job. Because we specialize in long-term care and assign consistent caregivers, you are not sent to a different house every day. You get to know a small number of clients deeply, build real relationships with them and their families, and see the difference your work makes over months and years. Many caregivers tell us that is what they were missing elsewhere.

What the Work Involves

Caregivers support older adults and people with health conditions in their own homes. Depending on the client’s care plan, a typical shift may include:

Shifts range from short daily visits to overnight and 24-hour coverage, so there is variety in the schedules available. More detail on each type of care is on our services page.

Who Does Well Here

Experience in home care, a care facility, or a hospital is valuable, and so is experience caring for a family member. What we look for above all is character.

Patience

Clients move slowly, repeat themselves, and have bad days. Good caregivers adjust their pace rather than hurrying the person.

Reliability

Clients and families plan their lives around your visits. Showing up on time, every time, is the single most important thing you can do.

Respect for dignity

You will help people with intimate tasks. Doing that in a way that leaves them feeling in charge of their own life is a skill we prize.

Observation

You are often the person who sees the client most. Noticing a new cough, a skipped meal, or unusual confusion, and reporting it, protects them.

Communication

Clear notes and honest conversations with families and the office keep everyone working from the same plan.

Warmth

Our values are compassion, dignity, integrity, and respect. We hire people who already live them.

How We Support Our Caregivers

Continuity works both ways. A caregiver who is matched thoughtfully, prepared properly, and listened to stays longer, and that is exactly what our clients need. In practice that means:

A Day in the Life of a Guided with Grace Caregiver

Every client is different, but here is how a typical day might unfold for a caregiver with two regular placements. It is illustrative rather than a fixed schedule.

Morning

You arrive at your first client’s home at the agreed time. She is in her eighties, lives alone, and needs help getting up safely, showering, and dressing. You follow her routine in the order she prefers, chat about her grandchildren while making breakfast, and remind her to take her morning medications, noting that she did. Before leaving, you tidy the kitchen, start a load of laundry, and write a short note in the care record.

Afternoon

Your second client is a man in the middle stages of dementia whose wife works until early evening. You spend the afternoon with him, keeping to the same structure each day: lunch together, a walk if the weather allows, and an activity he enjoys, such as sorting his tool collection. As the afternoon fades you close the curtains, turn on the lights, and keep things calm to head off the late-day restlessness he sometimes shows. When his wife returns, you hand over what you observed.

Throughout

You keep clear notes, report anything unusual to the office or family promptly, and treat each home with the respect you would want for your own family. Over the weeks, both clients come to expect and trust you, and the work becomes a relationship rather than a task list. That is the core of caregiver jobs in Naperville and the surrounding suburbs with Guided with Grace.

The Hiring Process

We keep the process straightforward and we are transparent about each step.

Specific details about pay, hours, and benefits are discussed directly during the hiring conversation, because they depend on the role and schedule. If you have questions before applying, contact us and mention that you are interested in caregiving work.
