Kendall County grew faster than almost anywhere in Illinois for twenty years, and its services for older people are still catching up: one transit system, one health department, one main senior center in Oswego and one in Yorkville, and no full-service hospital inside the county line. Elderly care Kendall County families arrange with Guided with Grace is built for that landscape: a screened caregiver in the house who does what the county cannot, and knows exactly what the county can.
We put together our home care services one person at a time, and in Kendall County, where public programs are thinner on the ground, that usually means the caregiver also becomes the driver, the cook and the person who notices.
No two Kendall County plans look alike. A widow outside Plano may need morning personal care and a weekly grocery run; a couple in Montgomery may want nothing more than a companion on Tuesdays and Fridays.
A young, fast-growing county leaves its older residents in a particular position: surrounded by families, and often far from services.
With no full hospital in the county, a steady caregiver who notices small changes early is what keeps emergencies rare and the drives fewer.
Farm families in Plano, Bristol and Newark who have never asked for help. A caregiver who works beside them is the version they accept.
They moved to Oswego or Yorkville to be near the grandchildren and spend weekdays alone in a quiet subdivision. A midday visit anchors the day.
You leave before your parents are up and get home after dark. A caregiver covers the hours between.
The county does not have many senior programs, but they are well run, and our caregivers know how to work with each one.
The main door for help is Senior Services Associates, the Area Agency on Aging member agency for Kendall County, at the Beecher Center, 908 Game Farm Road, Yorkville (630-553-5777): information, in-home assessments and care coordination for anyone 60 or older, a volunteer Senior Companion program, and a monthly visit to Deer Run Apartments in Plano. The Oswego Senior & Community Center at 3525 US Highway 34 (630-554-5602) serves the whole county with Medicare counseling, caregiver support, health screenings, exercise classes and congregate meals, and the City of Yorkville runs lunches, bingo and exercise classes at the Beecher Center. AgeGuide’s Family Caregiver Support Program (1-800-528-2000) covers Kendall County families with respite, counseling and legal help.
Kendall Area Transit (1-877-IGO-4KAT) is the county’s dial-a-ride, running Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for registered riders with a $1 discount for passengers 60 and older. The Kendall County Health Department at 811 West John Street in Yorkville (630-553-9100) provides Senior Health Insurance Program counseling and a Caregiver Counseling Center. For hospital care, most residents use Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, with the Rush Copley Emergency Center on Veterans Parkway in Yorkville open 24 hours and Morris Hospital’s Yorkville campus offering immediate care and family medicine. The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter’s Helpline is 1-800-272-3900.

Distance shapes everything here, so we look first for a caregiver who lives within easy reach of your parent, then for one whose personality suits, and we keep that pairing for as long as it works. Every caregiver is screened, background checked and trained before placement, and Guided with Grace is a licensed and insured non-medical home care agency in Illinois.
